The L.M.L. was founded in 1985 by Pierre Micheau.

The L.M.L. is associated with the "Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique" (C.N.R.S.) since 1991.
Theoretical and applied scientific activities are organized intro three teams of research with a strong implication at regional, national and international levels.
The main objective is to carry on this dynamic and to encourage the development of well known and recognized research activities.
