résumé In this paper, the particular kinematics of La-Hire gear is introduced as a possible solution to reduce energy loss in reciprocating engines. The mains drawback of the classical architecture is first reviewed. Then, through kinematical and dynamical developments, the advantages of La-Hire gear are highlighted. A discussion on technological consequences for reciprocating engines is finally proposed.
