The gas permeability properties of low-permeability rock in the process of traixial compression test

résumé Natural low-permeability rock of granitic gneiss is excellent material for underground oil depot. Its microstructure and mineral compostion are analyzed by SEM-EDS, the triaxial tests under different confining pressure are carried out. The evolution law of gas permeability with stress in process of deformation and failure is dicussed. The permeability propterty of granitic gneiss is different that of the rock with large porosity, the curve of permeabililty with stress in the process of deformation and failure is relatively flat and no large fluctuations, but still reflect the compression, weakening and failure characteristics of rock samples, and the effect of confining pressure on the permeability is not very obvious duo to its dense structure and small porosity.
