Various properties of the steady states observed in turbulent
channel flows are investigated by means of statistical mechanics.
Since these systems are not at thermodynamical equilibrium, we
exploit their conserved quantities to obtain relations linking vorticity
and velocity fluctuations depending on the Reynolds number.
Comparison of direct numerical simulations and experimental PIV
with respect to theory are performed showing a good qualitative
